Ahead of CES 2014 next week Samsung has unveiled the next generation to its Android running camera, dubbed the Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 Samsung say it handles processing faster, has an enhanced battery and is much lighter.

Packing a faster 1.6GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, the 2nd version of the Galaxy Camera is said to be much speedier at taking photos and its even lighter, weighing in at 283g, a decent decrease from the previous weight of 300g.

Samsung has also included an improved 2000mAh battery (from 1650mAh), but has kept the previous 16.3 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor with a 21x optical zoom, 8GB of internal storage (upgraded from 4GB), 50GB of free Dropbox storage and a microSD card slot for 64GB of increased storage.

There’s also the option to record Full HD video, with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean installed.
