Earlier today the Samsung Chief, JK Shin confirmed to the Korean press that they are set to launch a mini version of the Galaxy S II, which will measure a still quite large 4 inches.
“We’ll be launching a 4-inch Galaxy S III on the 11th in Germany, there’s a lot of demand for a 4-inch screen device in Europe. Some call it an entry-level device, but we call it ‘mini.'”
We already seen a hint of this when the company sent out their press invite for their event in Frankfurt in a few days, which can with the words, “So big can be small. And so small can be big,” along with the “S” symbol embossed across the invite.
And now the company has even hinted to Pocket-Lint that the new “Mini” smartphone will be coming to the UK and launched at their official event in Germany tomorrow.
“Galaxy S III Mini will come with 4-inch display and we are going to unveil the product tomorrow,” a Samsung UK spokesman told the site.
Alongside the hint, a press shot of the device itself has reportedly leaked alongside some new specifications, which come from the German mobile phone site, Mobile Geeks who claim the device will pack a 4.0 Super AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 800 x 480.
The phone will also include an STE U8420 dual-core 1.0 GHz processor, a 5 megapixel camera and 1GBs of RAM, the phone is also rumored to come with 16GBs of storage which will be expandable with a microSD card up to 32GB, the phone is also rumored to include Wi-Fi, DLNA, NFC capabilities and Android 4.1 pre-installed.
The site also claims that the battery will be a 1500 mAh, and the phone itself will be sized at 121.55 x 62.95 x 9.85mm.
As always this is all just a rumor, but if true we could end up seeing a budget friendly S III by the end of tomorrow.
