Despite the Note 7 fiasco, we and others are pretty sure that Samsung is going to continue with the Note brand.

According to many reports, the Note 8 will be released sometime this year or next (possibly set for a reveal of IFA in September or in New York in August), and these reports claim that this release will be a big one with some big features, including a 4K display and a brand new Bixby assistant.

Release Date and Price

While we have an idea of when the Note 8 may be released, we don’t really have an idea of when it will be released.

Some reports have talked about the pricing for the smartphone, according to some reports, it will be priced at around €999, which is quite the increase from the S8 and the S8+, which may be mostly down to the specifications, which are also just rumour right now.

Evan Blass, the well-known Twitter leakster recently tweeted about the Note 8, in which he referred to the device with the model number SM-N950 and reported that it may be a 2017 release.

According to SamMobile, it has the codename Great, they also stated that the international version will have the model number SM-N950F.

[Update] The latest news comes from Sammobile again, who have today released a report suggesting that the Note 8 will be launched on August 23rd.

[Update] Sammobile was correct and Samsung has confirmed that they will be hosting an event on August 23rd where they will unveil the next Galaxy smartphone, which is suspected to be the Note 8. Read more about it in this article.

Sammobile recently talked about the Note 8’s display, which they say will be a 6.3-inch Infinity Display. Reports suggest that it will be slightly more stretched out than the S8, however, we havven’t seen much about it yet.

The Russian blogger Eldar Murtazin did share some photos of the device which he says is called KK, it looks similar to the S8, however, we can see a vertical dual pixel camera on the back, and we can’t see a visible fingerprint scanner.

It is possible that it may feature an in-screen fingerprint sensor, which is also what is reported for the next iPhone.

However, this is a hard task to accomplish as it hasn’t been done before and some people have reported that they may either delay the smartphone because of this or just scrap the idea entirely.

Here are the photos from Eldar Murtazin:

PriceRaja also posted some photos of the device, which reportedly shows the front and back sides of the device. Here they are:

Update: Some new images of the handset have popped up online that claim to be the first hands-on photos (which we aren’t sure about since we have some above), check them out here.

Korea Herald boosts that dual rear-facing camera setup rumour with a report that the Note 8 might feature a wide-angle and a telephoto lens setup.

It will be their first smartphone to feature a dual camera setup and so this will be interesting. According to reports the wide-angle lens will reportedly have a 12MP sensor and the telephoto lens will reportedly have a 13 MP sensor, allowing for a 3x optical zoom and a bokeh effect.

We don’t know much about the battery of the Note 8 just yet, but we hope that they have learned something from the Note 7.

We are also sure that a lot of people would love a removable battery.

Android O is set to be the next biggest version of Android and we expect that this version will be on some of the biggest devices of the next year or two, including the Note 8 should it be real.

We also expect that Samsung will improve Bixby with the release of the Note 8.

We have also heard rumours about an ultra-definition VR feature for the Note 8 and a focus on the stylus, which is a constant feature of the Note range.

The rest of the rumoured specs

We expect that the Note 8 will feature Samsung’s Exynos 8895 processor, or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 825 depending on your region, however, we don’t know much about the specifications yet.
