You may remember that the Chromebook 2 with a faux leather backing leaked out yesterday, well it seems those rumours were true as Samsung has today announced a pair of new Series 2 Chromebooks, both of which feature the same faux leather backing that is featured on many of its new smartphones and tablets.
Ditching the plastic look that many have announced their hate for before, the new Chromebook hope to offer something a little more elegant but still at an affordable price.
The new Series 2 Chromebooks will be available in 11.6 and 13.3 inch models, they will be priced at $320 and $400 respectively, and will available to buy from April.
When they do launch, they will feature Samsung’s ARM-based Exynos 5 OCta processor, with either 1.9GHz or 2.1GHz speeds depending on the model, they will also feature an 8.5 hour battery life as well as 16GB of SSD storage.
Both will also feature a HDMI out port, USB 3.0 port, USB 2.0 port, a microSD card slot, and a 720p HD webcam.
The 11.6-inch model will be available in “Jet Black” and “Classic White”, and the 13.3-inch model will be available in only “Luminous Titan Gray”.
