It was originally expected that the Samsung Pay mobile payment system would be launched in the UK before the end of 2016, however, today it has been made clear that this is no longer going to happen after Samsung announced the UK launch has been delayed until 2017.

The service is already available in both the US and South Korea.

Samsung say that the delayed launch in the UK is down to negations with a number of banks in the UK.

Samsung said the following about it to The Telegraph:

“Following successful launches of Samsung Pay around the world, we are planning to launch the service in the UK in 2017.”

No details have been made about the official launch date just yet, however, you can read more about the delay at the source link below.
