Samsung has today announced a new solid-state drive during CES 2016, building upon their work with the T1 SSD, Samsung’s new Portable SSD T3 drive has some impressive features.

One of the biggest being that it uses USB 3.1 Type C connectors, which means it is capable of connected to the USB-C ports in the latest MacBooks and other devices.

What’s more, the drive is shock-resistant, and boasts read and write speeds of up to 450MB/second, with storage options that includes 250GB, 500GB, 1TB and 2TB.

And even with all of that, the drive weighs in at under 2 ounces, whilst including a new shock-resistant frame capable of withstanding 1500G of force and up to a 2-meter drop.

The drive will be available in February, with pricing yet to be announced.
