Samsung has today unveiled what it claims to be the world’s first monitor that can wirelessly charge a smartphone, dubbed the SE370, the monitor comes in both 23.6 inch and 27 inch variants and features a Qi wireless charger on the stand, allowing it to charge a compatible smartphone without the need for any extra wires.
All the user has to do is place their phone on the charging plate and an LED light will show to indicate it has charging.
This means that you can free up a power socket at your desk, and cut down the wires that are all too annoying, making it perfect for anyone who wants a clean desk.
Not only that, the monitor also features some other tricks that make it even more interesting.
Featuring a PLS panel that offers 178 degree viewing angles and a brightness of up to 300 cd/m2 with a 1000:1 contrast ratio, the monitor is specifically optimised for gaming with AMD FreeSync graphics, and a 4ms response time.
And with a button press the user can activate smooth tracking to enable a blur-free gaming experience, and if they wish they can also try out the Eco Saving Plus Mode which can reduce the monitor’s energy consumption by 10 per cent.
On the back of the monitor you will also find a HDMI 1.4 port, a DisplayPort 1.2 and a D-Sub.
