Samsung first showed off its 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray player at IFA last year.

Called the Samsung UBD-K8500, the 4K UHD Blu-Ray player is now available to purchase in the UK, which comes shortly after the compatible discs also launched.

It has been designed for Samsung’s curved TVs, featuring a curved front to coordinate the design of the two. In terms of features, it is HDR compatible and features picture upscaling technology to bring 1080p Blu-rays and standard definition DVDs up to a higher resolution.

Of course, you do need a 4K UHD TV for it to work, alongside UHD Blu-Rays, which is set to increase in quantity over the next year.

It is available from a number of retailers, including Currys, John Lewis, Richer Sounds, and of course, Samsung’s own website.

From all of these, it is priced at around £429.99.
