Today Seagate and Amazon announced a new partnership to launch a brand new drive that will automatically back up everything that has been stored on it to the cloud.

Called the Seagate Duet, the drive features 1TB of external storage, all of which can be cloned to the Amazon Drive service, allowing you to keep a physical backup of your data while being reassured that your data is safe in Amazon’s S3 service.

To set it up, you simply plug it in and then sign into your drive, after that it will auto backup to the Amazon Drive service.

Seagate says that they will be throwing in a year of unlimited storage for buying the drive, however, in Amazon’s listing for the Duet, they said that it will only be available in the US for new Amazon Drive Unlimited Storage subscription customers.

Otherwise, it is a great idea, however, we should probably note that it is a HDD and features a USB 3.0 connector.

It is available from Amazon now and is expected to be shipped on December 10th.

However, at the moment, it only seems to be available in the US.

You can find out more about it and pre-order one for $99 from the source link below.
