Apple has today launched a new security solution for their recently announced Mac Pro, which needs to be security differently to normal Macs due to its removable case, that allows for the users RAM and SSD.

In order to rectify this problem, Apple has today launched a new Mac Pro Security Lock Adapter which is available to purchase from Apple online store for $49 in the US or for £40.

However this adapter does not lock itself, and only creates the socket that is used to lock your system, which can be done by attaching a third party lock to the system.

For one of those you will need to purchase it separately.

This adapter will however mean that the user won’t need any tools or to make any enclosure modifications in order to keep their Mac Pro secure.

Here’s a list of all the third party security locks that are compatible with the new security lock and are available from the Apple Store:

Kensington MicroSaver Lock
Kensington MicroSaver DS Keyed Lock
Kensington Combination Laptop Lock (2011)
Kensington Portable Combination Laptop Lock
Kensington WordLock Portable Combination Laptop Lock

You can find out more about the lock at the source link below.
