Remote controls are boring, they only work for certain devices and often take up so much space with generally useless buttons that only have occasional uses.

Sevenhugs launched a new Smart Remote to attempt to change that.

It has been designed to control all of the devices in your home, from one place, without having to launch a massive universal remote.

It does this via a touchscreen interface that will automatically change to the right controls when you point it at a device that you want to control, allowing the remote to have a smaller build while allowing you to control pretty much everything in your house, with simple, yet exciting touch controls.

The Smart Remote is compatible with a variety of devices, including smart TVs, smart home gadgets, wireless speakers, lights, and much more. It works by using three wall-mounted sensors and internal motion tracking to orient itself, it then links to a companion app on a smartphone to allow you to program where these devices are in your room.

Check out the video below for a quick look at the remote. You can also hit up the source link to find out more and to back the project.
