Finally after delaying the announcement from June 11th, EA has announced that SimCity for Mac will be released on August 29th.

Delayed in order to create a better experience for players, both versions of the game will be cross-platform, meaning those with a PC can play with those playing on a Mac and vise-versa, alongside that, anyone who purchased a boxed or digital copy of the game is already entitled to a free copy of the game for Mac, distributed via the Origin Store.

There’s no news on how DLC will work just yet however, for instance if the Amusement park DLC that launched on May 28th was purchased on PC, would you have to purchase it again for Mac?

We shall see when the game launches on August 29th.
