Sky has today announced that they will be hosting the world premiere of the first episode of Game of Thrones season 5 in London.

This will mark the first time that a season of Game of Thrones has premiered in London, kicking of in the evening of March 18th. Shortly after the first episode will then be screened to the public in the US on April 12th, and then in the UK just a day after on April 13th.

“Game of Thrones is the must see show of the year and a massive show for Sky Atlantic so I am delighted we will be hosting the world premiere for this epic show at the Tower of London,” said Zai Bennett, director of Sky Atlantic.

“I can’t think of a more fitting venue to give what promises to be another unmissable series its big launch.”

Sky will also be inviting a number of customers from their markets in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria and Italy to the show, along with a number of cast members from the shows and a few celebrity fans of the franchise.

To get the chance to be one of those customers who watch the premiere you simply need to enter Sky’s competition, where the company will be giving 25 fans the opportunity to win tickets.

You can find out more about that on Sky’s website (, where they will soon be announcing details about the show.
