Skype has announced that they will be bringing free Wi-Fi hotspots to various stores, cafes and restaurants across the UK and Ireland via a partnership with Wicoms, who will be allowing customers to use hotsports for free through the Skype Wi-Fi application, but you will have to sign in with your Skype ID and not pay for the service.

Businesses will have to pay in order to offer the connectivity however, £9.99 a month for the service and £49 for the Wi-Fi router, but they are offering a free month and router when signing up in October.

The service is available from today, but it’s unlikely you will see many places using the service just yet.
