The Smach Z Steam Machine handheld was first unveiled as a concept in 2014, back when it was named the SteamBoy.
Now the company behind it have launched the portable console for backing on Kickstarter, looking to raise €900,000 to get it into production, with shipping expected for October 2016.
in terms of specifications, the Smach Z features a 5 inch 1080p touchscreen display, with an AMD G-Series processor, a Radeon GPU that has 2GB of dedicated memory.
It is also available with either 4GB or 8GB of RAM and either 32GB or 128GB of internal storage.
Smach Z will also come with access to your Steam Library and come pre-installed with SteamOS, and has a battery that is said to last up to 5 hours from a single battery, but you can also add more to increase time.
The creators say that the game is capable of playing games like Portal 2, DOTA, Left 4 Dead 2 and even The Witcher 2.
It also has haptic touchscreen controls, with Z-Pads for controls.
There’s also a microSD card slot, USB 3.0 type C port, HDMI video output and 4G connectivity in the pro model.
