Sony has today announced an update to the world’s first full-frame compact camera, that packs similar specs to the RX1 but without the optical low-pass filter, meaning that the updated camera won’t be great for some of you photo-nerds.

However the Cyber Shot RX1R will be available alongside the RZ1, so you will be able to buy whichever one suits you best.

However I’m not so sure about what Sony have actually updated, still with the same 24.3 megapixel sensor with a Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* F2 lens, and the same £2599 price tag, the only difference we can find is the one we mentioned above.

However if you do want to pick one up, you can do when the model hits stores in Europe this August.
