Alongside the announcement of the A3000, Sony has today announced the NEX-5T camera which is the latest model to be placed in the middle of the Nex line-up and is the first E-mount camera to feature NFC technology.

This technology will allow the camera to connect to a compatible smartphones with the PlayMemories application, and both control the camera remotely and transfer and manage images.

The app will also increase the functions available through the camera, such as a new lens compensation app to allow for specific corrections to counter distortion and ill-effects.

In terms of the cameras design, the NEX-5T features a similar design as the 5R, and features the same 16.1 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, as well as a 3 inch tilt angle display on the back.

The Sony NEX-5T will be available from September 2013 for around £600.
