Just in case the smartphone wasn’t enough, Sony has today unveiled the Sony Xperia Z2 tablet alongside it, claiming that it is both the world’s slimmest and the world’s lightest waterproof tablet.

Sticking to a design that’s similar to the Sony Xperia Z, it is flat with the only real edges being the flaps that cover the charging a microSD card ports, keeping it waterproofed, in terms of the headphone jack, that is completely open.

In terms of specs, the Xperia Z2 tablet has a 10.1 inch display with a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution with Sony’s new Live Colour LED technology, with front-firing S-Force Surround Sound speakers, and an integrated noise cancellation system when used with the recently announced MDR-NC31EM headphones.

In terms of size and weight, the tablet is only 6.4mm thick and weighs only 426g for the Wi-Fi version.

The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet will be available globally from March 2014, pricing is still to be confirmed.
