[Update] Sony has just announced pricing for the Xperia Z5 and the Xperia Z5 Premium, the Z5 will be priced at £599 and the Z5 Premium will be priced at £699 in the UK.
Sony announced their next flagship smartphone at IFA 2015, called the Xperia Z4 it follows on from the Xperia Z4 with brand new specs and features but with a similar design to the Z4.
One of the biggest new features in the smartphone is the introduction of a fingerprint scanner on the phone, mounted onto the side of the phone it has been combined with the Z5’s power button.
The Z5 also features a 23MP rear-facing camera, with high-speed hybrid autofocus, a wide-angle lens and the ability to capture 4K video. There’s also a 5MP front-facing camera.
Sony says that the camera will have exceptional low-light performance.
Since it is an Xperia phone the Xperia Z5 is also both water and dust proof. It also features a 2,900mAh battery that is said to last up to two days of life from a single charge.
The phone also has a 5.2 inch 1080p display, as well as a Snapdragon 810 SoC with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of in-built storage, and a microSD card slot.
The Sony Xperia Z5 will be available in black, white, gold and green, for a currently unknown price.
At their event Sony also unveiled a larger version of this device called the Xperia Z5 Premium, which features a 5.5 inch 4K display with a massive 806 pixels per inch.
It also has a Snapdragon 810 SoC, with a 3,430mAh battery, built-in fingerprint reader, 24 megpaixel rear-facing camera, 5 megapixel front-facing camera, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage and Android 5.1 Lollipop pre-installed. The body is also water and dust resistant.
The Xperia Z5 Premium will be available in November in chrome, black and gold.
