A year ago, Sony launched the Communities features on the PlayStation 4 with the System Software 3.0 update.

Today they announced that they will be expanding upon this integration with the launch of a new PlayStation Communities app for both iOS and Android.

With the app, you can do pretty much the same that you can do with the PS4 version of Communities, with the ability to create and join groups, while interacting with those groups.

The idea is that you can find groups based on the games that they have been playing easily, as well as being able to find groups that your friends are part of, joining conversations, and getting push notifications about discussions.

And it can also works alongside the existing PlayStation and PlayStation Messages apps.
