Sony Japan has today revealed its plans to try to reduce the amount of clutter a student has to take to college or university, a prototype, the idea is to launch a 13.3 inch tablet that packs both an e-ink touchscreen display and a stylus.

It’s also pretty thin at 6.8mm, and its light at 658 grams, defiantly small and light enough to fit into you backback, and with a 1200 x 1600 dot screen, its to equivalent to an A4 sheet of paper.

There’s also 4GB of on-board storage with a MicroSD card slot for expansion, as well as WiFi technology.

Sony says it will begin testing the notepad in Japanese universities to begin with, after which it aims to commercialize it in “fiscal year 2013” or by March 2014.
