Sony unveiled the Smartband at this years CES 2014 show in Janruary, but left out details on its release date information, until now anyway as the company has now announced the release date for the band at MWC 2014 in Barcelona, revealing that the Sony Smartband will be in stores worldwide from next month.

Compatible with the Sony Core tracker that will be available in March 2014, the band can measure your sleep patterns as well as movement when combined, providing vibrate alerts for notifications.

These notifications include some for incoming calls and messages, as well as notifying the user when their smartphone is left behind, or moves more than a certain distance from the Smartband.

The band can also control music playback, allowing music to be skipped, paused and played from the band itself.
