Sony has today teased what looks to be their next wearable device on twitter, hinting at an updated version of the SmartWatch that was previously designed to be compatible with Android devices.

In its tease, Sony also mentioned that it will unveil the device at the Mobile Asia Expo in Shanghai next week, adding the hashtags #itstime and #MAE13.

Alongside their tweet, Sony also added a teaser image that states the following form a BI Intelligence 2013 survey, stating that “1/3 smartphone users want smart wrist wear.”

Also stating “We launched the world’s first ‘smart’ watch in 2007.” after which they tweeted an image of a Walkman strapped to a wristband with the words “Wearable tech is in our DNA. Remember Walkman, now…?”

After which they tweeted a picture of a device with the words, “Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock”.

However there’s no clue of what the device is yet, but we should hear more soon.
