Sony has just announced a new set of home theater virtual surround sound systems, named the HT-CT60 and the Ht-CT260 both of which include a sound bar and external subwoofers, both of the devices also support virtual surround sound, promising explosive sound quality.

As you can probably tell from their names, the CT60 is the entry-level device with 60 watts of power and the CT260 is the device with more improved sound and S-Force Pro Front Surround technology. The CT260 has also been designed with 3-D surround sound audio effects in mind.

The Ct260 is also a bit beefier than the CT60 with 300 watts of total speaker power, alongside this the rear subwoofer is also wireless, which means no cables trailing round the house.

Another feature included with the CT260 is integrated Bluetooth which will allow you to stream music from your stereo Bluetooth capable tablet or smartphone to the system.

The CT60 includes a coaxial audio input and an optical audio input, it also has support for Dolby Digital and has integrated bass and treble controls alongside a handy night mode.

The CT260 also has a coaxial and optical audio input, but the bigger device has a little more up its sleeve with an integrated amplifier with A/V sync whilst supporting Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby ProLogic II, Dolby Dual Mono, and LPCM two channel audio formats.

Pricing and availability for both speakers has not been announced yet, but we will let you know when it is.
