Sony has today released a new firmware update for the Sony QX10 and QX100 smartphone and tablet lenses, that changes the 1080p recording size from MP4 1440 x 1080 (30p) to MP4 1920 x 1080 (30p), as well as an enhanced Shutter Speed Priority Shooting Mode on the QX100.

Sony has also increased the ISO range for both of the lenses, expanding the range from the previous maximum of ISO 1600 to a new maximum of ISO 3200, allowing the lenses to perform better in low light conditions.

The new firmware for the QX10 and QX100 can now be downloaded for both Mac and for Windows, with more information available from the Sony support website.

Sony also recently released a version of the lenses for their tablets.
