Announced back at CES earlier this year, the Xperia ZL from Sony has somewhat slipped under the radar recently, with the launch of the Xperia Z and various other phones from manufactures such as Samsung and HTC.

However the phone is today stealing back some of that spotlight, with the announcement that it is available for pre-order from today, well at least for those who live in the US anyway.

The phone packs a 5 inch 1080 x 1920p HD display, with the Mobile BRAVIA ENgine 2, a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13MP camera that includes Exmor RS, HDR, Superior Auto and Noise Reduction technology, allowing it to shoot in full HD.

Alongside which there’s also NFC in-built as well as connectivity for both HSPA+ and LTE networks and it will also run Android 4.1.

The phone is available from the Sony site from $719.99 unlocked with the HSPA+ technology, however this can be upgraded with 4G connectivity for $759.99.
