You may remember the Force Band that was unveiled some time ago, it was a smart band that could control the Sphero BB-8 robot toy via gestures.

This week that band was updated with some extra functionality that will allow it to do a lot more than simply controlling a robot toy, with the capability of controlling your entire smart home via the IFTTT (If This Then That) service, which will allow you to link to Force Band to a range of IFTTT recipies.

These recipes will allow you to perform a number of actions, such as controlling your Philips Hue lights with the Force Band, trigger a phone call, control the WEMO switch, and much more.

IFTTT published a range of examples for all of the available recipes, which you check out here. Sphero has also posted a video to demonstrate how it will work, which you can check out below.

You can pick up the Sphero Force Band for a range of retailers for £64.99.
