BT has today announced its new BT Sports 4K Ultra HD channel, revealing its pricing that will be set at just £15 a month.

Delia Bushell, managing director of BT TV and BT Sport, said in todays press release :

The BT Sport Ultra HD channel will bring you closer to the action than ever before. The picture quality is absolutely amazing – it’s four times the detail of today’s high definition TV. We are proud to be innovating and leading the UK TV market with our Entertainment Ultra HD package which offers customers the best in premium TV.

The new channel will be Europe’s first live sports channel that runs on 4K Ultra HD. It will be viewable via the new BT TV Ultra HD set-top box, with the first game commencing on August 2nd between Chelsea and Arsenal.

That game will be followed by the Barclays Premier League season with the first fame taking part between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on August 8th.

The BT Sport Ultra HD package will offer users access to the BT Sport Pack in HD and SD for free, 47 premium channels and 13 HD channels, and 9 kids channels.

BT Sport Ultra HD will also be included with 80 Freeview channels, catch-up TV via BBC iPlayer and 4oD, the ability to buy or rent new movies from the BT store, access to the TV Everywhere service, a 1TB UHD set-top box with pause, rewind and record and up to £500 off an LG 4K UHD TV.
