A few days ago we heard that Spotify and Uber would be partnering with each other for something special, and now that has been confirmed as a new service to provide passengers with a customised music playlist whilst on their journey.

This new feature was confirmed in a blog post today.

In the blog post Spotify revealed that the service will be launching in compatible cars from November 21st in 10 cities around the world including London, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Mexico City, Nashville, Singapore, Stockholm, Toronto and Sydney.

Once launched the service will allow passengers to to listen to music whilst inside the Uber taxi that they ordered, however in order to do so they must first link their Spotify and Uber accounts via the Uber application.

On top of that you will also need to be lucky enough to grab a taxi that is enabled to used Spotify, and you need a Spotify Premium subscription as well.
