Spotify and Volvo have today announced a new partnership, in order to bring the music streaming service to their Sensus Connected Touch in-car entertainment system, which was announced during the Geneva Motor Show today.

The service will be fully integrated into the in-car dashboard, allowing you to control the service with your voice, or simply use the touch screen to select you track, Pascal De Mul, the global head of hardware partnerships at Spotify, said the following about the new partnership:

“Spotify wants to make it as easy as possible for people to enjoy all the world’s music whenever and wherever they are, We know that the car is the number one environment in which people want to listen to music, so we are working to make Spotify available for drivers in as many types of car as possible.”

“We are really excited to announce this innovative, hands-free, in-dash Spotify service today with Volvo, so that even more drivers will be able to enjoy Spotify music safely while on the road.”

The service will work via your mobile phone, or via a 3G/4G dongle that can be attached to the car, and is based on the Android OS, running on a 7 inch voice-controlled touch display.

The system can be fitted into any new Volvo and will be available to purchase from May 2013.
