Starbucks has today announced a new partnership with Duracell to begin to trial wireless charging systems for smartphones in its US-based stores.

They will do this by introducing new wireless charging mats that are already available at a handful of Starbucks coffee shops on the west coast around San Jose, as well as on the east coast around Boston.

The mats will work with any Powermat compatible case or phone, allowing anyone without a phone with wireless charging capabilities, allowing even iPhone users to charge their phone wirelessly.

This wireless charging will also team up with the shops free Wi-Fi offering.

As it hasn’t reached America yet, we don’t expect this new wireless charging to roll out internationally any time soon, however we will let you know if it does.
