Steam has today announced that it has reached a record breaking number of concurrent users on its service, making it the most popular gaming service available and beating its previous record of 6.6 million users, announcing that the service now has 7,190,578 concurrent users.

In terms of games, its most popular used game on the service is Dota 2, which hit 545,906 concurrent users on the same date, and them Valve;s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive title at second with 93,905 concurrent users.

Pretty impressive numbers, and possibly a sign of bigger things to come with the release of Steam OS and the Steam Box.
