This week SwellPro unveiled a new drone project on the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform. Called the Splash Drone 3, it has been designed to be extremely unique with a waterproof design, which allows it to float on top of the water to get possibly the best angle available while shooting from the water.
Sadly, it can’t swim, but we can still see this being a great option for avid filmmakers, particularly those who may want to film at a sea location.
But it’s not just waterproof.
The drone has also been fitted with a new gimbal alongside a 4K camera to make sure this footage is as crisp and smooth as possible, along with stronger motors and an improved flight controller for better movement.
It will be available in two models, Auto that can be controlled by a mobile app and comes with a follow me feature, and the Fisherman, which ditches the gimbal system for a fixed camera. The removal of the gimbal does allow it to carry an item that weighs up to 2.5 pounds, which it can release remotely.
