If you have been waiting for Tesla’s new affordable electric car then you will be glad to know that you won’t have to wait much longer, as the car manufacturer has today revealed that they will be announcing its next generation electric car, which is currently known as the Model 3, on March 31st.

The Model 3 is expected to be Tesla’s first mass-market electric vehicle and is said to be produced on a huge scale to make it affordable enough for the mass user.

It isn’t expected to go into production until 2017, so we don’t know how much of the car will be revealed at the event, however, the following tweet does seem to show that they have a prototype at least.

The Model 3 will be produced at Tesla’s Gigafactory, which will mass produce the lithium-ion batteries that will be needed to power the car.

It is expected that Tesla will hit peak production in this factory by 2020.

Rumours suggest that the Model 3 will be priced at around $35,000, and will offer around 200-miles of range.

Tesla is set to unveil the Model 3 at its Hawthorne facility in California.

As soon as we hear more official news about this we will let you know.
