Recently Tesla’s Autopilot feature was found to have a few problems and so, Tesla announced that an update would be coming to the car in order to fix some of these problems.

This update was named Autopilot 8.0 and will allow the car to rely mostly on the radar, rather than just the cameras, helping it to figure out what is around it easier.

On Friday, Elon Musk revealed the release date for this new feature in the following tweet:

On top of the addition of new roles for radar, the Autopilot will also ensure the driver is alert whilst in this mode.

For example, the car will now force users to park and restart to use Autopilot again if it notices the driver has ignored warnings on the wheel.

It will be interesting if all of these changes work better than the previous one.
