In a Tweet from Tesla’s co-founder and CEO, Elon Musk, it has today been confirmed that the Tesla Model 3 will have a Ludicrous Mode.
Previously Ludicrous Mode has been a feature that was available on Tesla’s more high-end cars, the Model S and Model X, so it is surprising that Tesla will also be bringing it to the Model 3.
The mode currently increases the Model S to 762 horsepower on the P90D, and allows it to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds, and was first introduced in an update last July, and was an update to the Insane model that Tesla’s Model S previously had.
On the Model X, Ludicrous Mode increases the 0-60 speed to 3.3 seconds.
We don’t yet know what it will provide for the Model 3, but we should hear more about it and other features on the Model 3 soon.
That said, you shouldn’t expect Ludicrous Mode on the entry-level Model 3, as it requires some extra features, it will probably be an added extra.
