Back in October 2015, BLOCKS successfully funded a Kickstarter campaign, and now the team behind it are finally ready to begin shipping the modular smartwatch.
From this week they are preparing to ship the first wrist-worn wearables to backers of the campaign, allowing users to set up their won smartwatches with the features that they want by purchasing modules, and then combining them to provide a smartwatch that you want.
The core modules include an AMOLED display, processor, memory, storage and wireless connectivity, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor with 512GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a round 1.39-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with a 400 x 400-pixel resolution.
It also has Bluetooth 4.1 and wireless 802.11b/g/n support, a 9-axis accelerometer, gyroscope, a vibration motor and a microphone.
There’s also addition modules for a SIM card, a fingerprint scanner, NFC connectivity, gesture control, temperature monitoring, an air quality monitor, camera, flash memory storage, a stress level sensor and an Electrocardiograph module.
