Today Dropbox have updating their iOS application, bringing a new built-in document scanner to their app for the iPad and iPhone.

With the update, users can use their device’s camera to take a photo of anything they wish, such as a sketch, receipt or note, and then convert that into a document that can be stored in Dropbox.

Dropbox will also automatically detect the outline of the document that you scanned, allowing you to use a number of editing tools with it.

These tools include straightening, adjusting the contrast, adding pages and converting to black and white.

Those who subscribe to Dropbox for Business will also get optical character recognition, allowing them to convert scans into searchable text.

And that’s not all, the app now includes better integration with Microsoft Office, with some changes to camera uploads and more.
