Misfit has today announced a brand new update to their Shine 2 fitness tracking, adding swim tracking to the wearable.

This upgrade will be available as an upgrade to the current Shine 2, or buy purchasing the new version of the wearable called the Misfit Speedo Shine.

However, if you are upgrading your current Shine 2 to the new firmware then you will have to pay. Misfit will be charging $10 for owners of the Misfit Shine 2 and the Misfit Ray to get the upgrade, however, the update will provide the same features as the new Speedo Shine 2 wearable.

The Misfit Speedo Shine, will be priced at $120 and it will allow users to track their daily activity, swimming activity, and sleep activity.

It features a vibration with multi-coloured lights for alerts and reminders, with a new countdown swim timer that will allow the wearable to vibrate when the elapsed time has been reached.

There’s also a button that can be used to control the wearable, or for other features such as controlling music, triggering selfies and a lot more that is controlled over a smartphone connection.
