After a long few months of waiting, today OnePlus finally announced their next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 5.

They revealed this new smartphone during an event earlier today, showcasing the new design that is kinda like the OnePlus 3/3T and an iPhone 7 mixed together, more on the iPhone 7 side of things if we are honest.

It is slimmer than the previous OnePlus smartphones, measuring just 7.25mm. It also features rounded corners that make it easier and more comfortable to hold.

But it’s not just a new body, the OnePlus 5 also features a new dual camera system on the rear of the phone which consists of one 16-megapixel f/1.7 camera and another 20-megapixel f/2.0 telephoto camera, which allows the phone to zoom in further and create depth of field effects.

Sadly, the display is the same 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED panel. It does feature Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 though.

The inside if the smartphone is where it really shines, featuring a 2.45GHz Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage in the Slate Grey model.

There will also be a Midnight Black version of the OnePlus 5 that features 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

To top that off, both smartphones will feature a 3,300mAh battery alongside OxygenOS pre-installed, which is based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

The phone will be available to buy direct from OnePlus from 27 June. The entry model costs £449 whereas the more powerful version will be priced at £499.
