There has been many rumours flying around about an upcoming phone by Samsung called the Galaxy A8, today we can put them to rest as Samsung has today officially launched the device in China.
The Galaxy A8 is a mid-range smartphone that features a metal build and a good range of specifications.
Featuring a 5.7 inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, with a 64-bit oct-core Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage the Galaxy A8 has support for a microSD card up 128GB along with a 16 megapixel rear-facing camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 4G LTE connectivity and a 3,050mAh battery.
The phone also includes a fingerprint sensor and runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
All of this is packed into a metal frame that weighs just 151 grams and is just 5.9mm thin, making it Samsung’s thinnest smartphone yet. Not only that it is also virtually bezel-free.
At the time of writing the Samsung Galaxy A8 is only available in China, where it is ready to pre-order in white, black and gold.
Samsung has not yet confirmed whether the handset will launch in other markets, if they do we will let you know.
