Three has today announced a new VoIP app called Three InTouch, which will allow customers who are subscribed to the network to make calls and send messages over a Wi-Fi connection, this means that customer no longer require the network’s connection to make calls or send texts.

The app will still use he customer’s monthly allowances however, but will mean customer’s can get in contact with other’s even in poor signal areas.

These calls and texts will also still be sent using the customer’s normal phone number.

This is a move that aims to tackle WhatsApp, which is a service that a lot of customers have been using because it is free.

Once 5G data arrives, users will be able to make calls at a higher quality and even video call over a network connection.

Three customers can download the InTouch app for iPhone and Android now.
