In an effort the steal the limelight from Vodafone and O2 (both of whom are launching their 4G services today), Three have announced that they will be rolling out their 4G service in London, Birmingham and Manchester from December this year.

The best part is that any Three customer using a 4G ready device will be able to upgrade to the 4G plan at no extra cost, with All You Can Eat data, meaning that all of their current 1.5 million customers, and the new ones will be able to get unlimited 4G on their current All You Can Eat plan, with no extra charges.

There’s no need to go into a store, change a tariff, sign a contract or even swap SIMs, making Three’s 4G plan one of the easiest and possibly cheapest in the UK.

Three say that they aim to cover 98% of the UK population by the end of 2015, as well as adding 50 cities by the end of 2014.
