Roaming is probably one of the most annoying charges for a traveller, thankfully these charges are starting to be irradiated, starting with Three who has today revealed that they will be allowing their UK based customers free data, texts and calls for free in the US.

The deal will also apply to anyone making calls, texting or calling in  Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Macau and comes as part of the Fell At Home campaign, meaning all the other countries within that will be included too.

“We want customers to get the most out of their devices at home or abroad. High roaming charges stop people enjoying their phones while they’re away and Feel At Home is the antidote to that,” said Dave Dyson, chief executive at Three.

“Adding the USA to the mix is great news for our customers and shows our commitment to giving them the best experience in what is a popular destination. We plan to add more countries to the mix soon.”

Calls to non-UK calls will still incur fees however, and tethering will still have the same roaming charges outside the UK.
