At IFA 2016 this week, TomTom revealed the launch of a new sports watch model called the TomTom Adventurer.

As the name might suggest to you, the sports to watch has been built for the person that goes outside and take part in a range of sports, it uses the TomTom Spark as a foundation, with a similar design but with a range of new features.

Some of these new features include the addition of a barometer to provide more information than just what you get from the GPS, as well as the ability to track 3D distance, with elevation tracking.

Alongside all that, there’s an optical heart rate sensor on the back that will track your activity, with dedicated modes for tracking skiing, snowboarding, hiking and trails running, alongside modes for other activities that includes running, gym workouts and swimming.

It also provides a route tracking feature to allow you to look at a trace of where you have been and find where you started.

All of this automatically syncs with the companion app for smartphones.

The TomTom Adventurer also has a battery that is said to be usable for an entire weekend, as well as, water resistance of 40m. It will be available in October £249.99.
