TopShop has this week announced a new partnership with Barclaycard to launch a range accessories that have contactless payment technology in-built.

With the partnership the accessories will use Barclay’s bPay system, however you won’t need to be a BarclayCard customer to use it, and you will still be able to use it with any Visa or Mastercard debit or credit card.

“This collaboration shows how the worlds of fashion and technology can combine to  create a stylish and easy new way for people to pay using contactless for everyday things – be it a morning coffee, a new lipstick or a bus trip across town,” said Barclaycard’s Tami Hargreaves.

The first set of accessories will come with what TopShop calls a “monster fish” design, with a second set coming from TopMan with luxe metal and snake effect design.

They will also work with London buses and the Underground system, as well as allow users to use contactless payments for items up to £30 without having to enter a PIN.

The new contactless range will be available from both and in TopShop stores from November 17th and will include smartphone cases, wristbands, key chains and stickers.

The accessories will be priced from £15 to £32.
