Toshiba has this week announced a new NAS drive for release, dubbed the Toshiba Canvio Home, it will be available in both 2TB and 3TB variations.
Designed with the consumer market in mind, Toshiba says that the Canvio Home is easy to set up and will allow users to access any of their stored documents and files from any location, without any subscription charges, however you do need to have an internet connection.
“When many hear “Network Attached Storage” they think “complicated.” Canvio Home was designed specifically to address this concern with easy-to-install and easy-to-use software for all the most important functions.”
“Set-up is a no-brainer for anyone with basic knowledge of computer hardware and software. Then, once it’s up and running, you and your community of users will have no trouble logging in and finding the files and other content you want, thanks to a single application with a clear menu and intuitive interface.”
The Toshiba Canvio Home NAS drives will also support in-home streaming for media and films, allowing the user to stream content to their HDTV over their home network, or even stream content to an Android, IOS or Mac device.

The iOS and Android apps let your tablets and smart phones join in, too.” Toshiba continued to say in their press release.
The Toshiba Canvio Home is available now from the Toshiba website, priced at $150 for the 2TB version and $195 for the 3TB version.
