Toshiba has today announced a new storage drive called the TransMemory Pro, offering up 128GB of storage it provides USB 3.0 compatibility built-in, and is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 ports as well.

The flash drive will also be available in a 64GB version for $129.99, or in a 128GB version for $199.99, featuring both integrated security software and encrypted password protection, promising read speeds of up to 222MB/s and write speeds of up to 205MB/s.

Users of the drive can also share public files whilst keeping private files on the drive secure.

TransMemory Pro will also work with both Mac and PC.

“Featuring the best performance, highest speed, and largest capacity of any Toshiba USB flash drive to date, this storage device offers blazing fast data transfers while ensuring that all digital information is securely protected,” said Maciek Brzeski, vice president of product marketing and development, Branded Storage Products, Toshiba Digital Products Division. “We wanted to create a better on-the-go storage solution.”

Both the 64GB and the 128GB version are available to buy in the US today.
