Today TP-Link launched their own Wi-Fi Mesh system that has been designed to provide you with a whole home Wi-Fi connection, without having to set up multiple access points.

It has been called the TP-Link Deco M5, which is similar to Google WiFi or BT Whole Home in that it uses a set of puck-like devices that can connect to one another and spread your Wi-Fi signal around your home.

Each unit has dual-band AC1300 connectivity, which provides up to 400Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and up to 867Mbps speeds on the 5GHz band.

All of these can connect to each other to cover your home with these speeds over a distance of up to 4,500 square feet.

But that’s not all.

TP-Link have done something quite different with the Deco M5, building anti-virus and malware software right into the routers, which works via their Trend Micro partnership, providing them with the software to help you protect your home from attacks.

It will be available for free for the first three years of having the Deco M5, after which time, users can either pay a monthly subscription to continue using the protection or just opt out.

And all of this is really easy to control via the iOS and Android Deco companion app.

You can pick up the system today from a range of retailers. For example, you can pick it up from Amazon for £229, which includes three of these Deco units.
