Are you bored of your normal bike? If you are then you might be interested in this new Kickstarter project that aims to make your bike smarter with the addition of just a bell.
Called the Shoka Bell, it fixes onto your handlebars with a magnetic mount, just like a normal bell it can make a sound to notify people in front of you, but it is a smart bell due to the fact that it can adjust the volume of this bell according to what’s around you, however it can blast a tone that’s twice as loud as a regular bell.
You can also create your own tones for the bell and control it via a joystick.
However, just that wouldn’t make your bike much smarter.
Thankfully, Shoka does a bit more than that, also featuring navigation alerts when linked to an app on your smartphone (which chooses the safest route that cyclists have chosen) and it can also show real-time updates on traffic conditions.
There’s also a speed sensitive light on the front that will turn on automatically in low-light conditions, whilst featuring security systems that will mark your bike’s last known location on a map and alert you if it registers movement.
Its creators say that it has a battery that can last up to 200 hours before needing to be recharged, with a micro-USB port to do that and an aluminum waterproof body.
You can find out more at the source link below, where you can also back the project if you are interested.
